We had the good fortune of meeting a couple of nice hikers this weekend in Franklin. Sabi and Ripple have been on the trail since April and have had quite an interesting journey. They started at Rockfish Gap and hiked north. Once they got to Vermont they decided to continue on and hike the Long Trail to it's conclusion. Then they flopped to Katahdin and hiked south to where they merged with the LT. Along the way they took a trip to NYC and visited family in Maine and Tennessee. They returned to Rockfish Gap and started south towards Springer, so here they are.
They seem like great trail folks and I am happy to have had the chance of meeting them. That "2000-mile" radiating glow is permeating their being. What a joy to be around! They are winding down their hike and are wrapping up their last 100 miles now. Black Betty gave them a ride to the trail head this morning. If anyone runs into them in Georgia be sure to say, "hi". Here's a link to their blog with some great pics: http://lachiantales.blogspot.com/ |

If they are like they seem to be in their blog, I like them.
Sounds like they are having a great trip.
