SoLo is my trail name it was given to me on one of the Hikerbums outings because I usually hike alone.

They call me Crafty due to the fact I made most of my own gear, and could fix nearly anything on the trail! I got my name on my first day near Springer Mountain. Hungarian (08 SOBO) hiked up behind me with his friend Funky Monkey, and noticed my home made pack. We talked about my gear a bit and he told me "You know who you are? Youre Crafty, that's who you are!" So, from the first day forward, a given trail name by a former thru-hiker!

They call me Lazybones, dating back to my thru-hike in 1955, because if I got up before 8:00 a.m., I would break out in a rash. At least, that's what I told everyone when I was sleeping in late.

Too funny...I'm not big into mice either, so I can readily understand your "cry of distress".

On my first section Hike of the Long Trail I was packing one of my staples which is Hungry Jack mashed potatos. So seeing my name is Jack I cut the little logo off the package and taped it to the front cover of my journal and I have been "Hungry Jack" ever since.
